CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE

Words to consider: 

Dance Avondale is a positive and safe learning environment. The faculty is committed to utilizing positive discipline tactics in the classroom. All students are required to behave with kindness and respect toward the instructors and other students in the classroom. Discriminatory language or behavior of any kind by students or their family is strictly prohibited and will result in dismissal from the school. 

 

Dress code: 

Ballet

  • Female identifying students must wear leotard and tights. Small tutus and dance skirts are permitted. Ballet slippers are required.

  • Male identifying students must wear black or navy blue fitted pants and white t-shirts or tank tops. Ballet slippers are required

  • Non-binary identifying students must wear fitted clothing that is dark on the bottom (black or navy blue) and white on top. Ballet slippers are required.

 

Jazz

  • Female identifying students must wear a leotard with fitted shorts or leggings. Jazz shoes are required.

  • Male identifying students must wear fitted pants and fitted tank tops. Jazz shoes are required.

  • Non-binary identifying students must wear fitted clothing. Jazz shoes are required.

 

Creative Movement

  • All students are asked to wear fitted clothing that can include leotards but they are not required. Costumes and pajamas are prohibited. Bare feet or ballet slippers are required. No socks.
