Meet Nina Rose
Nina-Rose Wardanian is originally from Chicago, IL. She began her formal training at the Chicago Academy for the Arts. While in high school, she worked with choreographers such as Randy Duncan, Eduardo Vilaro, Nick Pupillo, and Eddie Ocampo. She also attended Chicago Multicultural Dance Center, where she studied under Homer Bryant, and later went on to teach classes.
Upon graduating, she attended the University of Missouri Kansas City. At UMKC she worked with choreographers such as Gary Abbott, Bernard Gaddis, Deeanna Hiett, Jamal Story, and Sabrina Madison Cannon. From there Nina went on to join the Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater, where she performed numerous works by Artistic Director Bernard Gaddis as well as “Vespers” by Ulysses Dove.
She was a founding cast member and dance captain for the Lawrence Arts Center’s “Midnight Visit to the Grave of Poe.” She also danced in the Moncler fashion show for Giambattista Valli in the fall of 2017 at Paris Fashion week. Nina has been a resident choreographer for the Bryant Youth Professionals since 2014. She has also choreographed for Noumenon Dance Ensemble. Nina is currently dancing for Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, where she also serves as rehearsal director.
Her latest endeavor has come in the form of the Nina Rose Dance Project; a company whose mission is to connect people with shared experiences and emotions, through a diverse group of dancers in intimate performance spaces, with a repertoire dedicated to real human issues.
